Try to keep it under 90, JR. Hate to scrape you off the sidewalk! Naw, man, glad you're mobile again. I'm gonna wait until I get a full set of x-rays before I get too carried away with exercises and such. But this spine has definitely curtailed my walks in the woods.

Good motoring!

Thanks Sarg, I posted this as I know we have some guys (like myself and you) with backs and hips not working very well. On some days I have a hard time walking to the barn to feed the horses and getting back. That day I spent at the Veteran Park was a killer. So I started looking a elect. mobility scooters and talking with people I met a Wal-Mart that own one. There are some nice ones out there, but they don't work very well on grass, gravel, dirt, sand and small rocks. So I found this all terrain model that I am hoping will fit my needs. Compared with the other scooters, this thing is a Monster. It will not fit in the wife's van and getting it into my truck on ramps would be a pain in the ass. So I found a like new used 2000 Wells Cargo 7'X12' enclosed trailer with a rear ramp door. So I have a place to park it out of the WX with easy access here at the house and I can take where I want......Like you, I like to get out and off the beaten path.....

Congrats on the new wheels I've been looking for an ATV of wheel chairs for some time, and I feel I'll still be looking for a much longer time. I have fibromyalgia. I can walk just fine for short distances, but after that... not so much. 30 min on my feet and some times I'm looking for something to kill myself with (semi-joking here). I'm an outdoors kind of guy, so I want a chair that isn't limited to indoors or sidewalks.

My dream machine is (well actually it's a wheel chair accessory. You lock your chair into it):

Barberian, if you buy one of these, I'll get you a bottle of booze of you choice. After you drink the bottle, you take your new wheels for a good ride in Wal-Mart. Video would be nice......:D:D:D:D:D:D Now that would be fun!!!

I guessing the ATV of wheel chairs has got to cost some bucks. $15k or better is my bet.....

ODG: Like Barberian, I just feel a lot more comfortable with tracks under me. When Uncle gives you a tank to drive at 18 yo, it is hard to get completely comfortable on wheels, even w/my old land rover, which has been up and down a few mountains over the years.

But the words like sciatica, djd and spondilosis keep popping up on my charts. Maybe Top Gear could show us some more good alternatives (like the new ones posted here). I think they did a show a few years ago.

I drove for 3 years after I retired from the navy. Mostly refer units, with the occasional box all over the lower 48 below and west of NY. Then I got on a regional run covering all the Wal Mart stores in NV and Ca down to North Los Angeles. Had to quit because of the big "D" (diabetes).

Sometimes I really, really miss the open road, other times I'm so glad to have quit. The lack of respect, sleep, the idiots on the road, the constant worry I might have made a mistake on my log books and pay dearly for it, everyone from the company one drives for, to all the different law enforcement agencies (legit or corrupt), thieves, etc.
