I deal with PTSD and my boyfriend does as well. There's times where he gets distant and other times he will talk to me and we have great chemistry together. However when he's stressed out or upset, he's not thinking clearly and ends up not speaking to me during these times. I'm supporting him and he knows that I'm always here. He has trouble fully opening up and I believe the reason for this being is because he got hurt in his past. I'm not sure what to do or what to say to him. He's really suffering right now and I'm being as patient as possible. Want him to open up to me but I don't want to push it. So is there any suggestions on how else I can support him?

Are either of you in therapy?

Sometimes my guy just wants to sit together in silence. His head is full...

Ditto.

Sometimes the best times with my guy are when we are together but not talking. (I love how his introvertedness goes well with mine!)

I think if you need a partner who is going to be open with you all the time, then maybe this isn't the best fit? Just a thought.
