And of course it did not go well.

He denied that he ever beat his kids. (I was the only one who ever got beaten.) Oddly enough he said “I never beat the kids, only the dog!”

WTF? As if that makes him look sooo much better.

My mom started crying. She didn’t know he beat the dog. She had a special bond with that dog.

I completely lost it, crying hysterically, couldn’t breathe. I ended up calling a friend and a crisis line.

Meanwhile my mom was there saying blah blah blah I know you beat Eve! My dad replied it was just “wrestling”.....uh huh, WRESTLING?!? It was nothing of the sort. Not even “wrestling gone awry”. He also said well I remember dragging her up the stairs at one point. Funny cuz I don’t have that particular memory.

I knew he’d never admit to it. He beat on me, he beat on my mom, and he beat on our pets.

f*cking asshole.

I don’t regret confronting him at all as it strengthens my resolve to keep him out of my life.

But you better believe I’m gonna raise holy hell if he dares to bring my sister into this!!!!

Yay Eve, so proud that you confrgot need him even though it was so difficult and for standing your ground, your so brave Eve, that’s awesome. Currently in a similar situation with my father, and as I read this post I related so much as my own father did some things that are almost exactly the same, I can really understand where you’re coming from Eve, and I just wanted to tell you how brave you are and send you lots and lots of hugs friend :hug: your post makes me feel a bit of hope that I can do this too, so thank you Eve sending lots of hugs :hug: :hug: :hug: :hug: :hug: :hug: :hug:
