ughhh.... I’ve had butterflies and nausea just thinking about going back for 3 days now. I want to finish what I started, at least get one of my degrees done and over with. I love learning really truly love it, I hate the anxiety and pressure to excell and the crowds. This is just my life I guess, I wonder if it’ll ever go away, sometimes I get terrified seeing my life stretch out in front of me, always filled to some extent with anxiety. I’m try to be existentialist about it, not attach so much meaning and importance to it, not hype it up to something it’s not. The universe doesn’t care either way. I find this kind of thinking oddly soothing, but when the panic sets in there’s not much I can do.

take your time...if you have to do it one short class at a time then that's what you do.

Have you thought about talking with someone who can help with test anxiety? It might take some of the pressure to excell off? I've done that with students and the results can be amazing..

And be proud of yourself for doing this!! Its huge!

I love learning, how there's nothing else officially i can now and become "more of a practitioner." I mean everyday learning continues but it's not like professional education. Become a Dr. at this point and retire later in life. No Thx. Enjoy the learning experience! Wish I could help you with the anxiety more. But just know someone is out there that wishes they could learn more now through uni or another institution and is cheerring you on and is envious.

OH! hey, have you thought about on-line? Because of my rotating work schedule it was my only option and it turned out to be perfect. I had to interact with other students but it was when I wanted to -- not at a scheduled time in an overcrowded classroom

Thank you for the encouraging response, it does actually help immensely, hearing it from someone outside my life. Yes I’m taking it slowly, I’m in anthropology and philosophy, I’m basically only in philosophy for one amazing prof who teaches at Oxford and does research there on sabbatical , but for the grace of god stays in our shitty little town, he’s our own Socrates lol, my other major is anthropology, it’s very hands on, so online unfortunately isn’t an option but it would be a good idea otherwise! It’s been a long process, and people just don’t seem to get it unless they’re in it themselves. I recovered from an eating disorder using the things I learned in philosophy, logic is so important and very much missing from our world at the moment lol!

You can absolutely learn outside university! So many great thinkers did much of their work and learning outside of the academic system, some were even kicked out, it’s a good thing don’t get me wrong, and you need that degree but it’s not the end all be all, haha run on sentence.
