Mini panic attack during school

I had a mini panic attack during my 7th hour at school. I asked to be excused and I was. I went up into the bathroom and curled up into a ball, put my sweatshirt over my face and started to rock back and forth and I was breathing really fast too.

What can I do the next time I have a panic attack at school? Did I do the right thing today?

I just came back from the gym where I got off the stepper after 15min of a moderate pace. The last 4-5 minutes I seemed to be very focused on my pain and what caused it, which left me feeling pretty awful (rather than feeling good from working hard). I got off and sat down a quiet hallway trying to give myself time and space. Sure enough it overwhelmed me and I started to cry. Since I was in a public area I tried to hold it in but as soon as someone asked if I was okay I further burst into tears and said no. Luckily it was the general manager of the gym and she let me panic in her office. I started trembling and shaking involuntary, so I focused on my breathing and gave myself time to calm down. She asked if there was anything she could do to help, but I knew it was up to me. It sucks, but you did what you needed to do in the moment. Next step is to figure out why you got triggered and work on that.
 
If you're feeling overwhelmed, one of the worst places to be is in a crowded classroom with your peers.
At my school, you can leave class at any time to see a social worker, counselor, or to go to the nurse. Sometimes my friends get a little overwhelmed at go to the nurse, and she lets them lay down for a couple minutes. Perhaps you could give that a try?
 
I used to have panic episodes for three hours at school I would ask a teacher to sit with me sometimes I had to go home but I kept asking the person to tell me I'm fine and safe I would get muscle spasms too I would repeat I'm safe to myself over and over again and hug for my body my teacher would also have to distract me you have to remind your body that you are safe
