Here's a bit about me, politically, that people never imagined- in some areas, I actually support both Obama and Hillary Clinton.
Ok, ok. Calm down. Take your glycerine pills so you don't die of a heart attack....
But I am serious. We're talking about ACA and Benghazi.
ACA-
You see, the health care bill was so full of errors. Pelosi and Boxer addressed it wrong pushing that we needed to pass it to see the details on it. Well, they were wrong in saying that, however, they were actually right, to a certain degree.
Until a bill is passed, there is only so far you can estimate what it can or will do. At least something the magnitude of the ACA bill. But as Obama and Clinton said, which Boxer, Schumer and Pelosi failed to address, is that after it is passed it can be adapted by amending it, or in a worse case scenario, scrapping it all together.
A perfect example is the training the ACA technicians had received. You would think they would know all the ins and outs of what was entailed in the Affordable Care Act, but in reality they were far from the mark. I found this when I took training a couple years ago at H&R Block to do income tax returns.
You see, when the ACA came about I was shopping for insurance. I found a plan that would have been very expensive because it had all the bells and whistles. I had it down in print that for $360 per month I would have everything covered. You name it- medical, dental, eyes, even mental (though limited). And the deductible, because of the affiliation of a former employer to the insuring company, zero. Come on, you couldn’t beat that no matter how hard you tried! Well, except for ACA which nipped that plan in the bud.
So I ended up getting a quote for ACA. The best plan I could get was the so-called bronze plan, and I would be paying $380 to $420 a month, $10,000 deductable, and it wouldn’t cover mental. After sitting and looking at all the numbers, I found that I would be out 100% of my income for 8 months, at best. JUST to pay for ACA. My income, minus the monthly, then the remainder going into the deductable. Or, as the techie at ACA calculated, I would, at best, have $280 per month to live on. Rent, fuel, food, truck insurance, gas & electric, cell phone- would be coming from that $280. Uh, yeah. Right. Fine me instead. Because I won’t play that game. And that is why for the longest time I objected to the ACA. But then, I took the courses at H&R Block and found that those techies were one step above stupid. Turns out that because of the details on my income source, it is not reportable. Thus, my income is technically $0, and according to that number, my bronze plan is now $5 per month, instead.
And then one last problem with this- now ACA is on it’s way out. So taking advantage of it is not possible any longer. I lost out because of some really stupid people in really high positions of authority. Gee, ain’t that real nice to know. But that is ACA.
Benghazi
There is something that really ate at me for the longest time about Hillary. And that is, her experience.
A lot of times she is quoted from a couple of times she spoke before the House when they made formal inquiries, “what difference does it make?”, and the conservatives jumped on that phrase like a hungry dog on a cheeseburger. Actually, I watched the entire discussion. She’s right. We have four dead Americans, was it a protest or was it a bunch of guys out for a walk and they decided to kill some Americans?
When the GOP jumped on it, a lot of blame was placed on Hillary’s shoulders. Some people, in high positions, said that she ordered the military to stay out. Well, maybe she did and maybe she didn’t. Ultimately the commanding officers of the units close by have the final say. Even if Jesus Christ Himself came down and said “don’t intervene”, they can always step in and intervene anyways. They have a responsibility to their soldiers.
And that is where I’m at odds with the GOP. Hillary was never to blame. But she took responsibility for it as secretary of state.
Hillary understands the Islamic mess far better than 99% of Americans think. You see, this hatred Muslim have for the US, we’re not talking about just 20-30 years, we’re talking a lot longer than that. But alas I would eat up so much webspace trying to explain it to you guys, so I must refrain at this time.
Just something I felt should be said.
