Finished a stand-up comedy class and did a performance

I took a live in 5 day course in stand-up comedy last week.

We learned from a comedian, wrote material, performed in front of each other, with mics and everything.

I was anxiety ridden, I was laughing my ass off. It was a lot.

Thursday night it was time. For the whole class to have memorized their material, stand in front of the school and do our thing.

I got some laughs.

I am so damn proud. I did it, even though I was very scared.

I think I laughed myself into my body. Dissociated less. It is so weird, right?

It was amazing but not without a breakdown.

I was nauseous just thinking about signing up, so it took me the good part of a year or so to do it. I have respect for your feelings. It is not easy.

I too would like to do it on PTSD, but haven't found the right angle.

It is like taking a scary carnival ride for the first time. You are not sure you want to go when you are in line, you are scared shitless while on it and afterwards, you are like: Can I go again?

It wasn't a smooth ride for me. I had a massive flashback but still...I would do it again. I learned and healed some.
