Oh dear, can someone please explain emojis and how to use them?

Copy from where tho? Another person's message?
Do I have to trawl through their messages to find the emoji I want?

Sorry - I thought I was just too dumb to understand the emojis.
 
OK, here's a quick tutorial on emojis vs. smilies.

The new guys are emojis. You can either select them from the edit menu or copy and paste them from another post.

The old guys are smilies. To use them, you have to remember the old codes, in the form of colon-code-colon, like : wtf : (without the spaces). : ) and : D and maybe : ( also still work (again, without the spaces). They cannot be copied and pasted from other posts and will not appear on the list in the edit menu.

Okay, but I don't "remember" the old ones cos I didn't know the old codes either.
Was there a list of those?
