When I'm in particularly bad shape I don't feel alot of anything be it emotional or physical pain. When I'm more moderate, I'll get some pain ( varies what that means) and the more tense and anxious I am the worse it is.
 
Stress and anxiety can bring more pain but, one that has chronic pain, I feel pain is more connected with inacivity then stress and anxiety. The connection is many times stress and anxiety and depression and other mental health issues can and does cause inacivity. That's the only connection I have been able to make with mental health and pain.

Of course, I suppose it depends on why you have pain.
