News Worldwide impact of the novel coronavirus (covid-19)

that cost the world two months mitigation strategy. While China was burning bodies, the world was being infected while China was smiling and lying the entire time.

That is plain not true, though?

China warned the world as early as early January. "The World" didn't listen. It's not China's fault for other government's negligence and ignorance.

Trump downplayed the entire thing as late as March. There's your two months of mitigation strategy.

I found out today from a friend, although I'm rethinking that, that since she knows no one with the virus, and no one she knows knows someone with the virus, it's not real. What is really taking place is that Trump assembled a HUGE amount of military who are going to rescue the children who are being trafficked in the underground tunnels. I just responded, "That's good". It hurts to hear real people parroting stupid things. It is breathtaking.

I'm sure you're right, and all these experts and intelligence personnel around the world are wrong.

Yep. I didn't know anyone with it, confirmed, until yesterday. Now a friend is confirmed and suffering. Not eating, tired, but resting and trying to recover.

You keep citing experts and intelligence, yet you continue to not provide any actual sources. It's hard to just take your word for it, you know.

I believe public and hence trace-able statements. With dates.

I'm also a scientist. I prefer to have claims backed up with references. Anything else is borderline conspiracy theory.

So I am assumed positive for Covid. I don't have a fever but then, my landlord who tested positive never did either. My biggest issue is exhaustion and shortness of breath. The cough isn't as bad as the shortness of breath but then I have mild asthma. I also have body aches and a bit of a sore throat. One of the interesting things that came out of my conversation with my doctor was the number of false negatives on cornavirus tests. She said numbers vary depending on the source, but it definitely seems to be more than like the flu test.

A Timeline of the Coronavirus Pandemic

New virus identified in China December 31st.

The first cases in the US were found January 20th.

Global health emergency declared by WHO: January 30th.

Trump:
“It’s going to disappear. One day, it’s like a miracle, it will disappear.” - February 28th.
"I think we're doing a really good job in this country at keeping it down"- March 6
"“The Fake News media & their partner, the Democrat Party, is doing everything within its semi-considerable power to inflame the Coronavirus situation.” - March 8

Cough.

If you are a scientist, and no disrespect meant, then surely you DO understand people cannot endanger active intelligence personnel & operations by talking to a civilian on a publicly accessible forum..?

And given Anthony is former military & a vet, yeah, I find his word very credible to believe.

I do believe he has his intelligence sources.

But it's ignorant to think China downplayed it while they were very open about it since early January -- while there is a track record of various governments all around the world not taking any of the early warnings serious.

That's what I meant with public statements. Those "not taking it serious" comments are public, hence verifiable. So are the warnings from China and WHO.

For anyone wondering, the county in China back under lockdown:

You see no issue labeling conspiracies something that is just understanding very basic deception tactic, applied nationwide by a govt of a nation notorious for human rights abuses, with an active genocidal campaign to at least two of its (ethnic-religious) minorities.

But sure.
A country that had no problem killing off a huge portion of its population even in the 20th cent, and continuing up to present... would be honorably reporting a pandemic greatly of their own making.

Because history, present politics, and common sense are nothing. *dry*

You are fixated on Trump. A public health emergency IS NOT a pandemic declaration, which was made in March by WHO. You left off, if you just want to talk about America and Trump (obviously you didn't vote for him), is that America closed its borders to China near upon the health declaration. Just like other countries.

What Trump says has nothing to do with the actions America has taken, inline with "Public Health Emergency" warning VS. "Pandemic" declaration.

Trump, Trump, Trump. You think the world starts and ends with America. Or Trump. You are but just a tiny part of the global system. The world has approximately 7.5+ billion people in it. The US is 350 or so million. Get over Trump please. Trump didn't cause this, China did.

Trump is not at fault for the American constitution and its rights that all Americans jump up and down about, civil liberties, blah blah blah, freedom, blah. You want everything, including to blame the issue on your own leader.

China caused this problem for all other countries to now deal with. Not Trump.

Yeah, thanks for telling me I have no common sense.

Because stigma and prejudice tooootally aren't a thing, either. *shrug*

Edit. Irrelevant.

ETA2.

I'm NOT saying DON'T blame China. Lot's of points for very justified criticism.

All I'm saying is don't SOLELY blame China. Way too black and white and easy/comfortable for us Westerners. Guess it's too much to ask to take even the hint of own responsibility.

That's all.
