I’m SO angry. We just facetimed with in laws in NYC who are elderly and have proper masks. I lost my temper and said those sort of masks should have been donated to medical facilities and as people over a certain age they should stay in - All their food is delivered etc. They don’t care. They want to walk because ‘you’d go mad otherwise’. We’d just been talking about what we were all doing and they ridiculed me for cleaning door knobs and light switches. ( something I think is part of general housework if not as regularly as now nor with the bleach solution I am now using ) .

There is a huge difference imo in wearing insufficient masks to reduce passing on ‘our droplets’ to hoarding medical equipment if not a medical professional right now. In a city suffering.

Where do you draw the line on appropriating other people's stuff? One of the"M's" in 3M is the name of the state where the corporate offices are. Maybe we should keep all the cool stuff here & not share with Iowa? Or New York?

I believe it's a fact that there's not enough of a bunch of stuff right now. There won't be, no matter what, unless and until manufacturers get ramped up to meet the demand. Personally, I think we should be nice to our allies because someday we might need them. Especially when our shortage is bigger than one shipment. If a deal has already been struck, it should be honored. Maybe no more deals, but stopping stuff from being delivered? There are sick people in New Jersey too, aren't there?

I'd feel a lot better about all of this if I thought someone with some authority actually knew what we've got, where is, where it's really needed most, and how to get there. If any of that is happening, they're doing a good job of keeping a low profile.

I made the mistake of watching a trump press conference where he accused news outlets of causing panic for ratings because they question him, followed by him repeating multiple times that hosptials need to use their state supplies for first responders and if that runs out -- well, they can request it from us and we have it under control and everyone has what they need.. It pissed me because 10 minutes before that I had a conversation with a critical care nurse asking if I thought my crafty sister would make masks for her staff since they don't have any.

So yep! Yay for anger!!! ?? :laugh:

on a happier note -- sis found a thing called filti fiber and she ordered enough to make 80 masks that she is going to donate. It will take a couple weeks but they are coming.....

You say you are walking around your house in PPE suits or similar, disinfecting your own home, the same place that nobody but you & partner have been in. Why? The virus cannot walk. Who is touching your doors and gates when they too should be at home? Why would you bother disinfecting them?

You say you have enough food and supplies to last 12 months or longer? Then you say you're wiping & disinfecting your shopping? Were you one of those people who were stockpiling because if you were then you are the reason ordinary people cannot get reasonable supplies to sustain themselves.

Why am I watching the White House press conferences? They are just f*cking repeating themselves. Just tell us you have no f*cking clue and get the f*ck off the stage. Who gives the f*ck cares about being thanked or being recongized? Last I checked, NY (and every other State) is part of the United States. Good lord!

I have not gotten any new news in many days. Why even watch the several hours long press conferences? Local stuff is way more informative. Why is it so hard for this government to be informative?

it is a well known fact that those reporters that ask him the hard questions are all gonna vote for someone else next election. Thats why he doesn't like them.

We kind of make a game out of it- "who can remember the original question after all of the false starts and dangling thought progressions have led us to the final statement?"

When that becomes mundane we start counting superlatives.

Soon we will be recording them and skipping the parts where he is talking- like commercials during a tevo. Dish network has the "Hopper" where you can set it to record something and play it back with all of the commercials removed, "hopped" over. Someone needs to take some of this social distancing time and create an ap for that. The press conference compressor. The vital info revitalizer.

I was talking to a friend this morning about what the world will look like when this is over. We will continue doing the same stupid stuff we've always done and /or end up in a war or will we learn and grow and become better people as a whole?
