lostforgottensoul-I went to a supermarket yesterday during the day and it was really weird. Usually I go at night with my husband and we get in and out as quick as we can. It was more crowded at 11 am than in the evening for sure. There are lines on the aisles but nobody following them. Most masked people but they are standing and looking at stuff like a deer caught in the headlights. I won't go again in the daytime.

Yeah @brat17. It was about 2pm. Not sure I could do anything at night. I do get up a bit later given that I'm working from home but maybe later is better. I don't know but it was nuts. It honestly looked like hurricane panic buying. We are, what 6 months into this? You'd think people would of made wearing a mask and keeping a 6 foot distance habit by now but nope. I had to walk around the store 5 times just to get to the bananas. So many people so close together and are most certianly acting panicked to me.

I was watching an interview with a guy in Sturgis who explained that it is a hoax, that the death rate is highly inflated, when the CDC says it is under reported. It would be funny if it weren't so tragic.
I saw one that said "well if we get it that's ok because it's just like a bad case of the flu anyway so it's worth it"

I'd be ok with that if it didn't also mean he was going to end up killing others along the way.

I went to a local grocery store yesterday, and a woman walked in with a mesh mask. Mesh! She said to the cashiers that she was wearing a mask, and I did not say, Thank you for protecting me. The cashiers were wishing they could do that. Who does she think she was fooling? The virus? The virus doesn't care if she is being an ass, or "getting over on the mandate". She is not clever. She is an idiot.

I live in the twilight zone. I went to my new pain doctor, and he seemed to be doing a good job, although he was blowing his own horn a lot. He made reference to his church which was inappropriate and when the official appointment was over, he said he was going to tell me what he tells all of his patients including those in Seattle. Like I was impressed with Seattle. I used to live near NYC. Anyway, he proceeds to tell me not to get vaccines, since the government is putting in nanotechnology to control us. He said the government (Democrats) is going to get rid of our money system, and the only way we can use money is with the new nano system. If you don't have the nanos, you can't buy anything so I'll have to have trade goods. I told him I keep a pantry, I grow a lot of food and raise chickens. He kept up with his lecture, even though I already do what he was suggesting, but for totally different reasons. I thought this was so inappropriate since this was a medical appointment, not a political one. I think I will just go back to my original pain doctor. This is so scary to me. He is the only pain doctor in the area, so he can say what he wants. I'm supposed to go back in a month, then it will be virtual appointments.

I've been watching "Karen" videos and there are a lot of people not wearing masks and fighting for "their right" to not wear one but there was in that cut a hole in the mask over her mouth! :banghead:

Totally inappropriate! I'd leave that doctor to! He needs to be reported for that! Or I'd report that.

My fav thing: drive up pick up. No contact. Nice.

Like here: Grocery Pickup – Order Online, Pickup Curbside at the Store | ALDI US

I didnt know Aldi had curb side pick up cause no one is doing curb side at that Aldi. Its likely another Aldi in the area. How do they bag your stuff? Aldi doesn't have bags. You bring your own or pay for bags and I have a million bags and don't want to pay for more.

I know my Walmart has it but I'd prefer delivery but can't find any place with home delivery here.

I think an interesting question is ‘what happens after this?’ Eventually a vaccine wi be found , But what will we have learned? Will we look at the ground worst impacted and recognise the systematic inequalities leading to that ? Will we look at things like infrastructure under provision? The dangers of over crowding in public transport ?

I saw an article this morning in the Guardian about British coasts and parks being left in a mess by people holidaying at home- Perhaps we can discuss with a responsibility how abysmally Some of our citizens behave in the countries of others.

@lostforgottensoul, it’s interesting to read how other areas tackle the shopping problems. In UK we pay for bags by law ( to reduce waste) . How ever , during pandemic those of us receiving home delivery- at least from my supplier - have been getting things in plastic bags free and asked not to return them to drivers to reduce risk of transferring . Usually we get them, empty them and return, or return for reuse at next delivery.

Same thing here.
More garbage left on the ground than we normally see and its 90% local.

and people just ripping masks off outside and dropping them on the ground.

I think people are afraid of touching garbage cans ?
