Silly me. I was thinking of Stowemarket Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk where my boys went to school.
Market Drayton, that's it. And we were stationed at Tern Hill. So much has happened that it's a struggle to remember places and dates sometimes.
I just got a funny picture in my head of a bunch of army guys and a bunch of bikers fighting over who's pub it is. lol
Nice to chat and get to know people on here. I’m new to this type of forum. But I’ve been having a read of other people’s posts. That helps to make it all feel a little more familiar.
I don’t usually post that much about myself, more about how I am and how I’m coping. But in the interests of getting to know you, the first person who responded to me on here, here’s a little more about me.
Hubby served many summers in Northern Ireland. We were stationed there too for two years. He got shot in 76 and involved in a serious bombing in 79. We were also station in Berlin for two years. He’s out of the army now. We got divorced but we are very good friends - take too long to explain. I think it just all got too much for us, we were both exhausted. Life’s a little brighter now. Both still dealing with the trauma and the struggle of it all.
