Flowers at the Arboretum in Lexington Ky

The perspective and composition of this flower shot is particularly special.
The sun illuminating the flower petals has a touch of magic to it.
That is a very cleverly taken shot. The contrast of the purple petals
with the green of the stalks combined with the blue and white
of the sky makes this striking to me. What a unique way of seeing the world-
from the perspective of the flowers!

Photo 1: Green tree frog.

Have heaps of these little guys. At night they move in and sit around my kitchen benches and lounge room waiting for insects.

Is quite interesting when my kids come to visit as some live in the back toilet bowl.

Make great barometers, the croaking is deafening when rain is due.

Photo 2 & 3: A baby water dragon sitting on Grumpy's head next to the fish pond.

It is about 150mm/6 inches long.

The adults are quite large, have a big female that sits next to me when I go fishing in the creek down the back. Was baiting up a prawn (shrimp) and thought I'd give her one, bad idea, guess she didn't know the difference between my finger and prawn meat!

Just a few photos of my resident 'critters' that live near my SHIRE

Amazing photos Rick! What bird is that in your 2nd picture? Looks like a Black Throated Diver or similar.

I'm just loving these pictures, the snakes and lizards, the wild flowers are all an insight into another persons world!
