The Good Old Days V's Now

 I'm confused -- were these good memories or bad ones? :O_o:
"Good ol' days" -- is this similar to saying "good times" after describing something a group of people did together, got in trouble for it, and then laughed about it later?

If you read the thread form the beginning 712xx, you will see what is meant to be about.

Remembering things from your childhood that dont happen now. Like phones with cords, or whether you had central heating or a car as a kid.

Stuff like that.

'Good ol' days' is a term that means the old days. Its often used ironically, as its associated with old people talking nostagically about childhood, like it was the best days. Even though it was pretty tough times.

Roller skating on metal wheeled skates to Elvis on the transistor radio with an earbud in only one ear.

Believing that everything on TV that was black & white indicated it occurred in the past and everything in color indicated it was the present or future. (am I the only kid who thought that?) I thought everybody wore black back then - like they didn't have color dye for clothing invented yet or something - or maybe they were all depressed and going to a funeral.

I'm not old enough to have "good old days" but I really like the dolls I got from my Mommy as a kid. She saved her dolls from when she was younger and passed them on to me.

I remember Cabbage Patch dolls-I lost mine and I want another one. I wish that dolls were not made of squishy plastic for their faces, but made of hard plastic-like my favorite dolly "Mary." Mary was my mothers doll as a child, and she just seems so much more innocent. It actually looks like a child and it is dressed in a pinafore and a dress. It is impossible to break her, because with the exception of the face being hard plastic, she is all soft and it feels like wool inside when I squeeze her tight.

I prefer her to Barbie any day! :D

Oh my, you were posh - we never had a car

LOL KP, but you wouldn't have wanted to be in it! It was a Hilman Imp, a tiny car that we all used to squash into. It had the engine at the back and the back seat had a big bump in the middle that I used to have to sit on. I was right over the engine! It used to overheat all the time and we'd have to stop to let it cool off. It took us ages to get anywhere; it might have been quicker to walk!

This was the car...:roflmao:
