Book Club Chit Chat Thread

I read the Book Club rules and didn't find an answer to my question...can supporters join the Book Club talks? I understand if the goal is for the discussion to remain with those with PTSD.

Either way, will read along and enjoy the discussion:geek: ! Can't wait until you guys get to the Jane Auel books (Valley of the Horses, Mammoth Hunters, etc.). Will take longer to read one book since they are larger than IT/computer nerd books!

Yes, absolutely, the club is open to all forum members.

Unlike the individual books, I don't think there is much format with the book series. I'll report this post and ask Anthony if he can start a thread for the Earths Children series. I adore that series and re-read it at leat every 18 months. I've just finished the Land of Painted caves.

I must say, I'm reading books which I would never have chosen. After reading 3, it is a score of loved 2, hated 1. This definitely takes me out of my comfort reading.

Happy reading
KP.

I too will always enjoy reading a proper book, but I have a kindle app on my PC so could sneakily get the downloads instead of having books coming by post.

So as long as no one tells hubby I could be able to sneak an extra few in a read more very soon.

SSHHH now. ;)

Is There More Than One Book Being Read?

Yes. There are series discussions, which any member can begin about a book series.

There are book club specific discussions which are isolated to begin at an established time for book club purposes.

Then, any member can start a discussion about their favourite or current book, providing it does not clash with the above two, being one in a series or a reserved book club choice.

I love the series too KP, I trolled Goodwill Thrift Store one day about 10 years ago and found the first 4 books of the series for less than $1 a book. I thought I discovered a lost treasure (and something that would keep me occupied for more than a few days), until my neighbor, who was a teenager during the late 1970's and 1980's, said the Clan of the Cave Bear series was the popular series of that time. I think this particular series would be interesting for discussion, but I know there are alot of other books on the list to read. There is so much of Ayla, her past, and future, and the creationism vs. evolution aspect, the relationships she made with man and animal..very cool stuff. If the size of the books are any indication, that thread would be a long arse thread:)! Maybe this could be a rainy day thread to start! I will now need to toggle this series with the Hunger Games series I am starting this weekend =)!

I've had a sneak peak at tomorrows book and I'm not looking forward to it.
I started reading it this afternoon. I thought it would be pointless and boring, though only at page 10 and it has sparks of interest within it. It seems quite short, about 300 odd pages... so I have an additional book I got for immediately after it, Beautiful Disaster, which should be an appealing one. I am making myself read them in that order before getting into the new fifty shades series, which I know if I pickup book one I will read through until book three... once again, Nicolette will not be a happy camper.
