@ Ayesha: same!!!!! (needed extra emphasis there)

@ Sharky: I'm worried there might be more than one Kharjo page and you won't find the right one. Just look for the best written one with the most photos and that should be him. There is also a page for Maiq the Liar ;)

@ Anthony: its like WoW in the sense that it is an RPG, but the main differences are:
- MUCH more freedom in terms of exploration and character creation.
- Full voice acting
- A more solitary game experience. Even though there are non-player characters in the game, it generally feels as though you have the whole place to yourself. This can be amazing, though personally I would love to be able to invite a few people into my world (like Ayesha and sharky!) so I'm not as lonely.

My son loves playing skyrim. I prefer Plants Vs Zombies myself, but I think I might give it a try. It sounds pretty good. I used to play Ultima Online and the Ultima games years ago. :)

So my ex bought this game and he is playing it with my son who is 9 years old. I am not sure if I agree with it. I wish my son didn't play computer games. He should be play outside and run around. But I saw this thread and thought I'd ask. Is this game appropriate for a 9 year old? I have no idea about it...

Well I'd say there's mild violence in the game. You kill people and mythical creatures, but there's no blood or gore. Some people fight with magic, others with swords - it's a medieval-esque game. But it's purely fantasy. Some people try and say it's like witchcraft and it's evil, but it's in a pure fantasy world called Tamriel where there are cat people, dragons, elves, etc. I personally think it would be fine for a nine year old, but I'm not a parent, and I don't know where you draw the line with what games your kid plays. But I don't think there's anything harmful in playing Skyrim - it's just fun. And a LOT less immoral than playing Grand Theft Auto.

sharky I would so be down too, but I'm on wireless broadband which costs me a fortune!! Hadn't thought of that.

Pedestrian in Grand Theft Auto: "I used to be a gangster like you, but then I took a 9mm round in the knee."

Whenever I am walking through Whiterun and go past the hysterical priest of Talos in the plaza, I always arrive just when he says "...and what does the Empire do? NNNUTHHINGG!!!"
Does this happen for other people?

Ayesha: I have encountered him about three times so far.

My brother's nine. He plays. There is blood. It's not gory blood but there is blood that splatters on the screen when you kill things sometimes. My kids play outside and run around - my wife makes them. Anytime I've had them we end up watching movies and playing video games mostly.

I don't remember blood splattering on the screen? But then again, maybe I just don't pay any attention. The only 'gory' or 'sadistic' part I remember, is when you become the new leader of the Dark Brotherhood and you have to kill the old leader and she's all bloody and in a weird 'self-inflicted ritual.'

Thanks for the info. I guess I have to talk to my ex about it. Probably not that bad. But still... It sounds like a fun game though.

Yeah blood does splatter. There is also the Blood of Ice quest ( I think that's what its called), tracking down serial killer quest.

I had a lot of problems with that quest. I didn't do it at the beginning of the game. And I just kept running into bug after bug. I finally just used the console commands to fix it.

Yes, it is very fun. :)
