Absolutely, I carry anxiety and tension in my muscles to an extent that causes extreme and chronic pain and muscle fatigue on a daily basis when my anxiety is high, such as it is at the moment. Sometimes it is only when I exercise, such as doing weights at the gym, that I become aware of the knotted tension in my muscles, which are then forced to release this tension through the requirement to lift weights. On more than one occasion I have experienced a very tangible wash of emotion in conjunction with the release of this tension, which has actually reduced me to tears for no conscious reason as I am exercising. Very embarrassing... but very indicative of just how tightly wound I am. Wish I could give my poor body a bit more of a break.
