That makes sense for the rollover time. So we just need more awareness. Where I am a session is $165. Reduced rates are available for low income. There are not enough services/therapists to provide for those who really should have help. Then appointments are 2 months out!

It is a sad affair! I get it yet I don't. I volunteer for blind/low vision services. Programs for free glasses and exams. The average income is $720. And they likely don't have the $1.

I guess it just boils down to each individual and the value they place on the benefit of the forum. It saddens me you two put your souls into this and we should not need reminders.

Just like I treat myself to having my nails done, I treat myself to the forum! :)

This is not exclusive here... and has been a major issue for why many large and valuable online resources have plastered their sites with ads, OR, simply closed up and gone away.

Small sites can be run for under $50 a year. Large sites start costing thousands, hundreds of thousands even, which many people just don't understand the costs associated with higher traffic sites providing services.

I live from a part time job topped up with a little from the disability pension. Money is sometimes a little tight, luckily we get paid once a fortnight in Australia. Sticking to a budget allows me to donate when I can. Don't smoke and hardly drink alcohol.

This forum has helped me so much over the last one 1.5 years, it is the least I can do to show my appreciation.

As Whitney said the resources that you and Nicolette provide are priceless.

I gave only $5 this month. I know husband would be upset with me if I a donated a lot becasue I already give my time as staff...

It does seem much slower this month. We usually pull through. :)

It would be pleasing to see some new names giving a little towards keeping the forum running than putting the responsibility upon the same members.

I have a (probably dumb) question... Do member upgrade's money go to donation or are they two separate things?

I'm saving to upgrade my account. I'm almost there. In Argentina 45 USD are the same as 450 USD in the States.

I really want to help, because this forum has been a life-saver for me so if you'd rather I donate the money and not upgrade, I'll do that.

They are two different things @Chincho in that a member upgrade gives you features and help run the site in other facets, whilst server donations are purely to keep the site online by covering the monthly cost of the server to run the site.

What you choose is up to you, nobody else.
