Recently diagnosed with CPTSD, including memory loss throughout life. Currently in EMDR therapy. New to this site. Feeling alone. Would like to make contact with other sufferers nearby. Anyone out there?

Sorry about your C-PTSD, and that I'm quite far from Sonoma. But you'll find a lot of good support on this site while on your journey towards healing. I hope you stick around. Welcome!

Thanks, WillyKat. If there are ever meetups in the East Bay, especially for CPTSD sufferers, I'd be interested, maybe drive down... And btw I like your avatar. Is it a beautiful gnarled survivor known as a bristlecone?

It might very well be a bristlecone, but I grabbed it from the internet and am not sure. You're right; they are tough survivors and I get inspiration from them.

I do like pics of struggling trees; I see a lot of them when I'm in the wilderness. I have a few pics of my own but finding those pics among the thousands I have is a challenge.

There's a part of the forum called Find a Friend or something and there was some talk of a bay area meetup, but it has not materialized. Check for PTSD meetups on the web; I think there's one that meets in Richmond, which would be closer to you than way down here.

That inspired me to search through my handful of bristlecone pine shots. This one from the White Mountains looking across to the Sierra Crest.

Nice! I've wanted to go there many times. I was in Death Valley in March of 2012, but the road was still closed and I couldn't get in.

I love the White Mts and being among the bristlecones, one of the most peaceful places I've ever been. Always wanted to go to Death Valley, especially in spring when flowers are in overdrive, but have yet to get there.

It turned out that March was too early for flowers, but I saw in rain in Death Valley and snow in the surrounding mountains. I camped in the higher elevations and it froze four of the five nights there. I even had to drive through a couple of impressive mudholes.
