Is My T Right For Me?

The T I have ended up with allowed a free phone call (maybe 20min) which I really liked and that phone call was quite convincing for me.
 
Standard practice (in my experience) seems to split 60/15/15.

Most have a free interview or initial consultation.
Some have a free 20-30 min phone consultation, but in person is full charge.
Some it's full charge in person and are fairly unwilling to do more than a few moments on the phone.

I've found phenom counselors in all 3 brackets. The last bracket tends to be for counselors who have very busy (or very successful) practices. They're mostly by referral, and rarely advertise. While there can and certainly are twats in this bracket (or people you simply don't gel with), they're usually in it / busy because they're good.
 
To me a well qualified therapist of any sort that has the latest DM-5 category training and experience should be well equated to handle sexual abuse, and childhood trauma. For me a good therapist will not dwell on the trauma, but will go into the topic of recovery.

One of my biggest issues today is allowing myself to be close to a partner. It seems as though as soon as I get to the point of wanting to say something, I run. This has hindered every relationship I've tried to enter and hindered my ability to fall in love actually.

The other day I was doing research on a website about the new scientific approach to PTSD. There has been new categories outlined in the diagnosis properties, and to my relief directly relates to childhood trauma and the like. I respect our troops, and understand the dynamic of PTSD there, but find relief that the idea is broadening.
