You Know You Have PTSD When...

... when you need to go to the skin doctor because you have had a pre-cancerous mole in the past and so you need to have a "skin check" and he is the only skin doctor within a very large area (UGH!), the other closest one is in another state and is probably a male too. I did not even bother to check.

When you run away when someone recognizes you on the street. Well, y'know what they say. "A man runs the fastest when a dog is chasing him" well, same goes for when someone deep deep in your memory calls you in the street.

@KnowWhereKnowWhere do you know any grounding techniques. If you do, try to remember to do them when you get that shook up. You know, focus on your feet touching the floor, or how your body touches the surfaces it is laying on or sitting on. Notice sounds and smells and sights in your environment, until you calm down. Also, if you know when your post comes each day, set your radio alarm clock to go off a half hour beforehand, so you might hear the post noises less, or maybe go to an area of the home where you cannot hear it before you expect it to arrive. The point is to get yourself into a frame of mind where you are expecting the noises, but are focusing on other things. Let us know how these things help or don't help, OK?
