Military Does A Marine Refer To His Branch Of Military As The Army?

I think this kind of demonstrates your subject though... it's a pride thing with service-members. They rib each other over being in different branches all the time. Nobody is going to forget what branch they were in. No marine is going to say he was in the Army. Even different MOS's in the same branch rib each other.

My Marine would literally probably lick a garbage can than say he was in the Army.

I'd say your bullsh*t meter is right on point here.

Run. No amount of care and patience on your part can fix what's wrong with that guy.

I was recently dating a person that I think they have been lying to me the whole entire relationship. H...
Marine is a Title that is Earned and will remain a part of him for the rest of his life. To refer to himself as Army would be a very big self demeaning statement if he completed Marine boot-camp and was in for 14 years. I know Marines who would kick someone's butt knowing they were a Marine then referred to them as Army. 14 years in Afghanistan, active duty brings it down to what 2001? Ask him for his official DD-214, what his MOS-AIT was it should be a number followed by a letter if he had been there 14 years. I have heard similar stories of "prolonged active duty," when it has come down to jail or prison time when they cannot make an accurate accounting for the lost years. You can also ask him where he did boot-camp then where he attended his advanced individual training or military occupational training. Where he was recruited from would depend on which training facility he would attend. You can also call the local VBA to verify eligibility if he has been in that long. Doesn't sound right to me, sounds more like a con maybe literally. As far as the leg? I would find out what medications he is on and if he was a Marine how he was discharged. good luck
