I know this is an older thread but for someone reading around like I do I wanted to put this book on here too. Invisible Heroes by Belleruth Naparstek
As a spouse of a CPTSD sufferer this book has helped me immensely...... Packed full of good information. It was actually given to him but his therapist said It would be helpful for me to read.....as he never did. Some of it I don't agree with as with anything.....toss the bad, keep the good~

I would just toss in my opinion here. I think complex has a great deal to do with it. Particularly for...
Just read most of this, I'm devastated, I absolutely don't see any possibility of completing the steps needed to heal

Couple weeks back I re read Judith l.Hermann, and cannot see a way of wing able to complete those steps either.

Can't let go of thinking about this just now :(

The steps to healing trauma actually are few... and when you break every aspect down to minute detail, it makes each step easier to complete versus trying to achieve too much at once, then breaking down without course for control.

People become fixated on the belief that complex anything is a wall too high for them to ever climb. Well... it likely is when you look at it wrong, and approach it wrong. You don't try and climb the wall, you break the wall down brick by brick, until you can eventually step over it.

A person can slightly modify steps based on their circumstance, but it remains pretty much solid regardless the type of trauma. The important thing is to only work on one trauma at a time, and do not deviate regardless how much comes up.
