I have a pet Guinea Pig named Angel. He is grayish brown with short hair and about a year old. He likes cucumbers, Kale, banana, pear... (can't give him too much fruit though, because he can get diabetes). I give him pellets and he has to have hay also, which aids in his digestion. He loves home grown tomatoes too, but they are not quite in season yet. A friend gives them out at church during the summer and fall, so we get plenty of those then.
He squeaks whenever I go into the kitchen, especially whenever I rinse off anything or run water, even just to wash my hands!
When he was a baby he liked being held and he would coo whenever I petted him or held him. As he got older, he seemed scared whenever I went to get him out of his cage, so I stopped doing so for awhile. Now, again, he seems OK when I go to get him, so I can hold him and pet him again now. I'm not sure why he was scared for awhile there. I know he does not like vacuum cleaner sounds. I don't know if maybe that freaked him out for a bit there. It is hard to figure out what scared him, but I assume something did.
A friend suggested putting baking soda in his bedding, to control odors, so I did that for the first time this week. We shall see how that goes....
He's my little buddy and I like to just talk with him a lot. He makes little noises when I do, too, so I guess he likes me to talk with him also.
I also have a fish tank. I have 3 red barb tetras and a plecos. I named the Plecos Stripes, because he has several of them. My fish are kind of in the background. I can't really talk with them or anything, but they are pretty and interesting to watch at times. They are so peaceful the way they swim around.
