It is only four more sleeps until our first wedding anniversary! No huge deal but we want it to be the start of many until 'death do us part'.
I always wanted to grow up, have on a princess dress and marry my prince and live happily every after. Finally, after 15 years of not being with or meeting the right guy, the man next door came over and introduced himself. I thought, men, I'm so over them, especially one recently out of a relationship.........run for the hills . Little did I know this man had sworn himself off women for 12 months and he just came over due to my son going to his son's birthday party and to be neighborly.Who would have thought this man was to change my life forever.
Well, I found my prince (PTSD and all ) and almost a year ago I wore my princess dress and am looking forward to living the rest of my life with Anthony along with the roller coaster ride of PTSD. It's really not as bad as the saying "warts and all" as warts you can see and they are grosse; PTSD is just an illness which came with the package. (I do not mean to dismiss anyone and am just posting this with a humorous intent.)
Now with the history of 3.5 years condensed into 3 paragraphs I once again come here to thank the wonderful people on this forum. Last year we received gifts, kind gestures and cards from all over the world thanks to the kindness in the hearts of people who have PTSD and those who are their significant others. It was very touching.
Today in the mail we received two 1st Anniversay cards, both from England. Thank you Amethist and hubby for your gorgeous card (my favorite colors) and your kind words and thoughtfulness. While not dismissing Amethist, we were amazed to receive a hand made card from Cherryblossom using our original avatars drawn by Evie (Batgirl). Thank you CB.
While we expect nothing, it is so touching to know people on the other side of the world, who only know us via a forum would go to so much trouble just for us. It is actually even more apt as the first wedding anniversary gift is paper so the cards we have received will be treasured as keepsakes.
Can't tell you what I am getting Anthony (other than something in paper) and I can't tell you yet what he is getting me (but wow, I am counting the sleeps as I am very excited).
Anyway, enough rambling...thank you again.
