Yesterday I got part 2 of my gift from KK. I got some candy, chocolates. I got a gold star in a pretty bag and some lovely earrings. There was a nice card on it too. I was so surprised. I am overwhelmned with gratitude. I got a glimpse of what I what I want to give next year now that I have the idea of what to give. I will be signed up for next year. Thank you giver of gifts. What a lovely surprise.

This package came RIGHT ON TIME, believe it or not. I had had a craving for peanut butter cups and they're not so easy to find here in Germany (plus expensive). When I came back from a year abroad, I had taken a huge box of them back with me (from Costco), they're my absolute favorites! Today I was going to shop that had them but didn't buy any! When I opened up the package, I thought I was hallucinating (not seriously) because I smelled peanut butter and chocolate! Dismissed the thought, kept unpacking and tadaaaaaaaaaaaa... Buckeyes (Peanut Butter & Milk Chocolate)! Double YAY! Plus some background info on the buckeye tree and who that fella is on the box!

But let's move on... lol There's a Hallmark KEEPSAKE 2012 Beer Stein (it is true, we have them in their correct size for drinking beer). Interesting for me: there is a note on the back of the little box explaining: "Steins originated around the 14th century; many believe that the lid was implemented during the Black Plague to prevent diseased flies from getting into the beer. The spread of the bubonic plague throughout Europe forced Germany to take some precautions, so a new law was written stating that all beverage containers needed a lid." Guess who didn't know? lol

There was also a necklace that, from what I understand, has something on it that could either be a tooth or a claw (?!) and some background (Native American) information on it.

And there was a nice letter in English (yes, I certainly have found the forum a wonderful resource)... and a very funny German translation (web-based translation application)!

It must be a tooth, but it's so big, can a serpent have such large teeth? Do they have teeth? If that's a serpent's tooth, I don't want to get too close to serpents! :D

So glad you finally received. I do hope someone knows the secret behind the tooth. Native American Culture is fascinating. Most likely would be a bear or wolf tooth.

It is! I used to read up on it a lot as a teenager. From the background material that was included, I thought it was a serpent's. Judging its size though, hopefully not! Maybe Kris Cucezuf will shed some light.
