Sufferer 30+ Year Sufferer. Sexually , Emotionally, And Physically Abused

Hi My name is Doug. I was diagnosed with complex PTSD a year ago coupled with Major Depression.
I came from a very abusive family , was sexually , emotionally, and physically abused.

Like many other suffers , I kept googling ptsd and stuff and found this website a year ago.
I thought it be good to come out of my comfort zone and reach out .

I enjoy classical music ,and I play classical guitar. I am also an addict to video games , although I am making improvements.

Does anyone here play the sims 3 by chance. I was thinking of playing it , and try to create my version of a happy family.

I also have a wonderful girlfriend that is totally supportive, and I also have a wonderful network of friends that have been supportive in healing.

I get suicidal thoughts from time to time

Hi @dougyhowzer....welcome to the forum. I come from a very abusive childhood too. It's tough stuff to get over. Are you seeing a trauma therapist? There are a lot of great articles in "the vault" here on PTSD. And lots of great knowledgable people. Glad to have you here.

Thank you for the warm replies everyone . I already feel apart of the family here .

I have been seeing a Christian counsellor for almost 2 years and he has been a big help.

I am also going to be going through cognitive behavioural therapy in the future
