A Meaningful Coincidence

Just to introduce myself a bit, I'm a visual artist living in Phoenix, Az., married, 53, owner of four dogs, grown children, grand children. I stumbled upon your forum/site inadvertently, but it was a meaningful coincidence.

I was diagnosed with PTSD years ago, and did feel I recovered, and have also worked as a counselor and crisis advocate in many capacities, and so this experience, of PTSD, has always been of interest to me, an answer and a question.

Recently, I have experienced some extreme trauma, not willing to speak it just yet here, but am now grieving a huge loss of many thing, in regard to healing from the trauma. I am just checking out your site to see what it has to offer here. Seems a bit public for an introvert like me, but will see how it goes.

Thanks for being here.

Hi Warrior, welcome to the forum. I too stumbled upon this site inadvertently. It was the best stumbling I ever stumbled.

Seems a bit public for an introvert like me, but will see how it goes.

I understand what you mean about being public for an introvert. The first time I came here, it seemed like there were so many people, and they were all watching me. Maybe I just spend way too much time on the forum, but after little time, I learned people's names, stories, general personalities, and connected to so many wonderful people I would not hesitate to call friends. I hope that you feel similarly comfortable in the community someday. It truly is a rich resource of support and information.

Do poke around and look into some of the articles. I found reading what others were writing helped me get a feel for what this community was about. I wish you all the best in finding healing.

Hi Warriorartist,

53 year old artist introvert, grown children and grandchildren. Sounds a little familiar, except for the 12 year old I have to go get out of bed in a moment. He was the result of me losing my mind when the eldest went off to college and deciding I had to have 'just one more'. Hee- still losing my mind.

Welcome to the forum. It's a good place to be, to post or just lurk when introverted, and to heal.

Take care,

Anni
