Hi, I'm 33 years old and had a pretty bad childhood due to my heroin addicted mother. I'm just now realizing all the damage that its done and how it affects how I act in relationships and everyday life now.
I was probably just in my first real intimate relationship. Thats saying alot since I was with my ex wife for 11 years. I just never let her in or pretty much anybody.
I was dating somebody who I tried opening up to and being the real me and it ended and by surprise. I freaked pretty bad and ended up trying to OD on blood thinners and alcohol. I ended up in a mental health ward for 6 days and am now attending day hospital for two weeks. To make matters worse I got a dui that night. Its kind of a good thing because I would have taken the rest of my blood thinners if I made it home.
I was just diagnosed with Bi-polar 2 and can see why I was and I'm kind of relieved. I've been in therapy for years and got rid of all the nager associated with the childhood but after this and doing some research I have so much to work on. I guess this is my way of talking about it and it helps me feel better.
Look forward to getting tons of info from this site. Any tips would be great!
Thanks
