Hello everybody, how aare we all doing?
I have beeno this site for a couple months now but recently it was sugetted to me that I write one of these before I make further posts. First off aren't we all here to be able to talk about anything and recieve help or comfort from other vets? I can"t stant it when somebody calls you a liar or isn't supportave and helpfull in these forums. Having that said my name is Xander I served in the Army for 3 years. I served in Afghan (around boghram) for two months. I know this is a short deployment and do not hold a gruge against annybody who has more time overseas than I do. I joined the Army at 17. I signed up for a RASP contract. I went to Ft. Benning for OSUT and further training. I got through OSUT with no problems. I adjusted quickly to military life and rutine. I then went to Airborne hold over for what seemed like forever. Thenn I got sent to Airborne School. Now that took time to adjust to. It was in Georgia during the summer. Even at 6am it was heat cat 5. Now that was alot of running. I estimate it was about 10 miles to 15 miles a day. My parents came to seee me jump on jump week. I didnt know which one they would see or if they would even see me at all. Onn my 5th jump i counted to 3 then I saw parachute cord all over my body. I was caught in somebodies else parachute. Our chutes were partially open but we were falling very fast. Next think I know I am on a stretcher. I shook it off and ran back with my chute. then after a weekend I got picked up for RASP. After that I got stationed at Ft. Bragg. It took awhile but finally my unit accepted me with an injury. I then did two months over in Afghan. Got cleared out of the Army in 10 days, my DD214 is messed up becuase I only had 10 dayss to clear. Long story. Got out went home. That is a summary of my military service. If anybody has personal questions please e-mail me or respond.
Thank you everybody for your service.
