Hi,
My sleep is pretty decent these days... And when I occasionally can't sleep, I take an Ambien/ Zolpidem and it's super helpful and that's that...
Recently, my sleep has been beyond messed up... My dog is palliative and incontinent I'm getting up to let him out for a pee once an hour per night, or every half an hour, if he's having a bad night... So yeah, my sleep's been screwed for a good many weeks...
The last 4 days I've gotten close to zero sleep and I'm kind of worried I could get into a hypo-manic phase because of it.
Being the Christmas-break phase, I can't get a hold of my pdoc or primary care doc.
Luckily I have an appt with my primary care doc on the 27th so if I work out what stronger sleep med might be helpful, I can ask him to prescribe it then.
Any ideas?
I've tried taking 2 Ambiens/ Zoplidem tablets (double dose than what I would normally take for an insomnia phase), but it does nothing. So instead, I've been taking 2 Zolpidem plus 2 Alprazolam benzos. That seems to actually cut through the hyper-cannot-sleep thing and I get a few hours sleep. I can keep doing that for now, to get me through until the 27th.
I've never needed a stronger sleep med in my life before ever, so I have no idea what might be helpful/ what to ask my primary care Dr for. Any ideas/ suggestions...??
I had a sleepless phase like this about 10 years ago, which sent me into a pretty hypomanic/ manic phase and I really want to avoid it happening again...
