Ah... The Controversy - Lady Gaga

I love Lady GAGa! If I am tired or grumpy I can listen to her music and be smiling in about three songs. Her acoustic pieces are just further proof that she is a great artist and deserves every dollar she gets from her work. I did buy her CD, would buy tickets to her show and would probably be very disappointed if her concert did not push the envalope a little. I think these parents are just trying to hide their prudish and intollerant natures by saying "its for the children". Would I take a small child to the show? Of course not! Would I let a teenager go... absolutely.

This Ends Now - while I read your reply to this thead, I just had to play the video again. I think her voice is amazing, and 'speechless' sends (good) shivers down my spine. I so love music. And like you say, how music can lift your soul. I miss playing music (trumpet, cornet - jazz bands, swing bands, brass bands) - maybe I'll get back to it some day.

Lady Gaga is incredibly talented no doubt. Such a voice! Yet I can do without the shock value of so much of her stuff. Yes she is an artist and I understand that it is marketing....however the violent pieces I absolutely hate. I am not niave to the world, heavens no, but why focus on the violent. I have had enough of that in my life. Kind of like exposure therapy, the more we see it the more immune we become to it. Violence is so commonplace in this world and our values slip ever further into derangement. I love her voice and appreciate her talent.....just sad that there is so much anger in it.

I actually woke up with Speechless in my head this morning (I often wake up with songs in my head and then try to analyse it -??). Anyone close to me knows my love for the Gaga. She is a total inspiration I think. She doesn't let what people might say bring her down. You have to admire someone with that kind of artistic bravery. She actually wrote Speechless to try and convince her Dad to have heart surgery. Can't wait til NYE for the new album. I've heard it only gets whackier. The other thing I respect about her is that she basically poured her own money into her first supporting tour and walked away with pretty much nothing rather than 'change her show' to make it more affordable. It obviously paid off. She herself describes herself as a performance artist and that when seeing her live to expect it to be about a 'show' and not just live music.

One of my fav Gaga quotes :
"When you make music or write or create, it's really your job to have mind-blowing, irresponsible, condomless sex with whatever idea it is you're writing about at the time. " - Lady Gaga

I officially have a crush and would so ............ (edit)

'My my Gaga... didn't know you had THAT in you'

(censors.... censors... censors)

I love her. I'm a vegetarian and I loooooove her.

When I am depressed and my mind is going places it shouldn't I put on some Lady Gaga and dance around the house like a loon or sing along in my car and it makes things temporarily better.

Good song! Great voice! I love many forms of Art and Music and especially if they completely merge the two. Depends on my mood what can be the complimentary thing! Good thread.

Having seen the inside of a womens prison, um from a official side of things, I wish the inmates were like them. Oh and I love her out-fits, make-up and her abs., what a body to be showing off. I think it is really sexy and outrageous....and funny. The music is her 'style' and the lyrics are hilarious. I wouldn't pay to see her and I wouldn't let my children go to a concert of her's

I think she's very talented and I personally like her voice and music, but when my seven year old niece told me that she's lady Gaga, I wasn't that thrilled. Hopefully she just picked the hype up at school and isn't actually dreaming of becoming a sexy inmate.

I love Lady Gaga's music and I love her videos...but for me, her "shock" value is getting old. I think the most shocking thing she can do is actually dress normal haha!

I have been listening to her a lot recently. You can feel the confidence in her songs and I love that. 'Poker face' was released 5 years ago and it's still in my go to list of songs. I can only think of a few other artists right now that can be in my most loved list; Katy Perry, Adele and Lorde.
