Yeah it definitely affects people differently. I know I have a hard time going to visit my brother's grave. I just can't do it. And I was raised Catholic myself.

I hope you knowing that he is at peace brings you some sort of solace. I'm still having a hard time with that one.

Thank you. This was a half brother on my dad's side. Charlie and I weren't terribly close, as many siblings can be, but it still hurt. He died of a self inflicted gunshot wound.

It's been 30yrs but I lost my brother who was 6 yrs older than me to a car crash when I was 13.
I spent about 2 or 3 months just numb struggling to understand how he could just be gone.
It was probably another 5-8yrs before I started to learn to let him go and not be sad about him.

Wow... That's so young to lose a sibling. Especially at 13, I'm sure it's not something you even fathomed as a part of your reality. I'm so so sorry you suffered like that. I hope one day I can move passed it too.

@Medic72 Sorry for your loss at such a young age....I can't imagine how that affected you.

@Link Removed Sorry for your loss. I just learned past couple years my other brother tried to commit suicide, but called emergency services near end.... He was on life support (I didn't even know until recently)... Since I lived far away my mom never told me, but explains those days when she was crying so much when I'd call. I think she only told one relative - who told me after she passed away. My mom didn't want anyone to know, or judge him.
