Something I haven’t found information on yet, is - are there grades of cptsd, do you think?

It seems like some people are really high functioning, and others have more severe struggles.

Does the initial weight/earliness of the trauma usually impact the recovery time/depth?

just interested!

Yep…. For both PTSD & CPTSD. Mild. Moderate. Severe.

The same person can be all 3 at different times, and in different ways.

It can help to think of PTSD like diabetes, or asthma. Always gonna have it, but whether it’s well managed & causes zero problems or wildly unchecked, untreated, &/or highly symptomatic even with treatment up to one’s eyeballs? Can flip flop back and forth.

Not according to anything I’ve ever read, observed, or experienced.

Instead? It’s more of a “you must be at least this tall to ride this ride” kind of thing. Once that initial threshold is reached? It doesn’t tell you whether they’re less than an inch over the line, or a pro NBA player, or sumo wrestler.

Once someone has PTSD or CPTSD? (That “you must be this tall”) … all bets are off & it becomes highly individual how long treatment takes, how functional/nonfunctional they are, how often they’re symptomatic & how badly, etc.

This is interesting, thank you!

Are there any links to info on the different severity levels, that you’re aware of?
