One of the few things I have confidence in is my creative artistic ability, which was encouraged by a high school teacher. I went on to major in art but would not go to class or finish the assignments.
Now I enjoy the results of drawing with oil pastels, interior decorating, and computer graphic design.

I write... or wrote poetry. I even won a few awards! I wrote for the newspaper 2 years too. I have given it up. I did that when : 1. I realized I wrote because my father said I could never be as good as he was and later found out he was a plagiarist! 2: I decided I did not want to write poetry professionally.
I love to do crafts though !

I used to draw sketches - portraits of people and the like, but now I have a nerve issue and can't hold a pencil. But I discovered photography and absolutely love it. And imagine my shock when my dad actually told me I was good and my stuff was better than everyone else's! Only praise I've gotten from him, so I guess it's not complete crap like everything else was.

Had poems published a few times - had a creative writing teacher that always insisted on reading my stuff out loud to the class - that was embarrassing but validating. I don't have any urge to write anymore, though.

I draw and consider myself an artist. I would call the drawings 'abstract geometrical line art'. It involves drawing shapes complex or simple and then copying the image over and over inside itself until you can't anymore. Then you connect the common points to form a three dimensional image.
The beauty happens when you use the connected points to combine the shapes.... the more complex you make your original shapes and the better you are at drawing your lines the better the overall art looks.
It requires of me deep concentration, I haven't done it in awhile since the onset of my symptoms but I should get back to it. It might be a very healthy practice for me.

I write, draw, and paint. I've recently taken a great interest in drawing with watercolor pencils. I also enjoy making collages and am learning how to create mosaics. I used to sew but I haven't in a while, I think it has to do with the fact that my ex-husband used to tear up and destroy things that I sewed when he went into his rages. I guess I associate it with bad memories now.

I paint my emotions on 12x12 card stock. I put them into a binder because I have very limited wall space. I write too, journal exhaustively and I enjoy writing lyrics to other people's melodies. Am crafty really (lol) with whatever artistic medium of the day catches my fancy.

Trigger question for me as well.....always have done art...write songs...poetry...draw....paint....crochet.....sew...I could go on and on about the awesome experiences where artistic abilities have played a role in my life, I love expressing in an artistic way....it is so much prettier...or at least pleasant;patitable.
