So far I'm still the only only child.
Story of my life.. Hmm...

My story echos that of NomadHeart - mother got pregnant at 19, had me just after her 20th birthday, was angry with me for spoiling her life (ie. being born) and was subjected to physical, emotional abuse and neglect thereafter. My father left when I was six and I became the family scapegoat... lots and lots of anger directed at me. My sister tried to kill me with an axe when I was 11 (she was 10). Oh happy days!

I'm the last of 5-2 half brothers, 1 full sister, 1 full brother, then me. I was quiet, they were loud. No contact with any of them except my brother now

I'm the youngest of 8 - 6 older brothers, 1 Older sister.
Age span - a year between each brother, 5 year gap, a year between my sister and myself.

I am the last of many.

I have two older brothers but they are from my Mom's first marriage.

They are so much older than me that by the time I was 6 they were already young adults and moving out.

I was raised very much as an only child. I never had to share a bathroom, never had to go to the same school as my brothers, and spent most of my time playing alone.

I chose "only child" because I am my parents' only child together and I am not as close to my brothers as people generally are to their siblings.

I was almost 10 when my sister was born. I did not like her very much. I had to get rid of my cat and give up my bedroom because of the "baby".

Felt very pushed aside and unloved because the baby was cuter

I was raised by my bi-polar mother, was the caregiver for my brothers until I left home at 15.

My dad wasn't in my life much growing up. Only lived with him for a short time when I got taken by the state from my mothers house and placed with him, 6 months later I was back with my mom and 2 years later I moved out.

I'm the middle of three children, and the only girl. Mom had my older brother when she was 18, me when she was 21, and my little brother when she was 24. She was advised to not have any more kids after me, but had one more anyway, and has said she would've kept having kids every three years if she hadn't had to get a hysterectomy just before she turned 30.

Last born. Although I lived with my brothers, I was raised separately as if I was a single child though. I didn't have much to do with my brothers growing up at all (or now).
