Art, Painting, Drawing - Share Yours

If you really want them gone you have to leave it up to the moderators. I'd say report them yourself. (that way you don't get into trouble) but after they are gone put them up again as links to the pictures. At least that is what I would do.

Some of the best art is disturbing. Not all art has to be pretty and inducing happy emotions. Most of the greatest artists had some form of mental illness, and went to dark places in order to generate their art.

I applaud you forwardmotion462 for sharing something very upsetting and hard for you. It takes guts to expose abuse and you have no need to feel ashamed or bad. If I were your art therapist right now, I'd be saying that you've done really well to get this out on paper and expressed some difficult stuff.

Loving that Long Tail above - amazing!

i feel really bad

I think what the others have said is great Forward. Your work is amazing and I wish I could draw that well. Art isn't always pretty or easy to look at (such as war pictures) but they get an important message across.

Please don't be put off, drawing is a fantastic way of getting the painful memories out and as Philippa said, any art therapist would think it was amazing and a good move forward.

It takes guts to share something that personal. Well done.

triggering... this is a comic that I started working on about my abuse. It looks a lot better in person, but I'm no pro  sort of scared to share...
I agree with all the others and am really glad you posted the comics. It wasn't only really courageous but it was expressive and moving. I wouldn't call it triggering, because it obvious that it coming from a subjective experience that involved the artist. I would be really glad if you continued with that work.

All of my artwork deals with autobiographic material and trauma. I find it really important that work like this gets seen.

I agree Philippa.

I have wrote some very dark, disturbing, emotional poetry - really freaky but it helped me immensely. I was part of a creative writing group for a while and boy did some of those folk express their darker side in their writing!

I think expressing our darker sides is really important. If we don't acknowledge that it's there, then it can turn very bad...like many things have in the world when people repress things.

All I can say is that I'm glad Clive Barker got his dark side out on paper...god help us if he had acted out his disturbed fantasies onto real people.

Anything that is disturbing to look at or read is challenging to the viewer, and I think that's what makes art so interesting. That's not to say that things that are easy on the eye are not equally as valid, just that they have a different effect on us, and we don't have to try and understand them so much.
