Arthrography, Anyone?

If you have had an arthrography, please tell me how it went, how much pain it was, if you wish you had asked for more pain killer before it started, how much pain you were in after the procedure was done.

I've had it done, to my wrist. Now, my wrist gets sore anyway, but depending on what they're trying to see, you'll hurt like a tooth ache after. They told me to take some "aspirin" for a few days after. ****ers. My wrist was bruised black after that doc got done the procedure.

Did they give you enough anesthetic before they started? Can you get more anesthetic as the procedure wears on? They are trying to see if there is torn cartilage, and then in the future do arthroscopic surgery. How long did the pain last, days or weeks?
I saw the procedure done on you toob and I got so upset that I had to turn it off. I can't stand medical procedures.

The pain lasted a few days. I had arthroscopic surgery done after and was in a cast for a month and a half and then I had physio recovery. Now, I have (hopefully) one last injection appointment.

If you can't stand medical procedures, make sure you get a doc that cares about the patients and doesn't have an assembly-line of procedures that day. The doc I had for the arthrography was a dick. The two surgeons I've had for the arthroscopy and injections have been great though!

Anesthetic? I can only do local anesthetic, because of my native heritage (just my father's line, not all natives, to clarify), I've got some sort of waking up problem (I don't). It's very rare that they put me under and it's some sort of quick acting expensive stuff they use when they do.

When you are scheduled for your arthrography, you can ask the admitting nurse questions and voice your concerns.
