Article About Ptsd... Can Someone Tell Me If I'm Missing Something?

PTSD is seen as heroic? In what universe does he live? What absolute bullshit. PTSD is misunderstood by most people, even our own families. Many see it as being broken. He has no idea how much most veterans resist a PTSD diagnosis. We accept a diagnosis because we have the will to fight to be healed, but that is not a common understanding among those who haven't lived with it.

I took about 4 or 5 tries, I thought it was me. My ability to stay focused and my reading comprehension really takes a hit when I'm stressed.

I'm going to be honest, I couldn't make it through the whole thing. Usually I don't complain about stuff I don't read all of and it looks like I was too hasty to post, but some of his arguments just got to me. And then the author himself made it worse with crappy explanations.

Does anyone else think it's a peculiar leap for an anti-war campaigner to be a PTSD nay-sayer? Oh what the hell, I was going to write more but it's just exhausting trying to come up with an adequate retort to something so inversely logical. Pah

Yes, I do. It would be more consistent to use PTSD and other conflict injuries to argue against warring.

But the pair of them, the article's author and the academic author about whom he's reporting, both seem to have very convoluted arguments and, indeed, equally perverse mindsets. Sometimes it's not worth expending any energy on educated nutters.

The cold comfort is that even their supporters probably won't be able to follow their 'logic' either!!:joyful:
