I'm going through a jaw infection and saw your post. Then i had to share my recent adventure. first my dentist is a human an is so kind and caring and gentle that I was comfortable establishing a partnership (patient/dentist) with him.


The last root canal (not with this dentist) I had the numbing agent (novacaine) and it wore off half way through.

I don't know if I was conditioned or what but it was surreal. I just had tears and didn't stop him. I've always wondered about that. Why didn't I stop the procedure. Luckily his assistant was observant and noticed the tears. They stopped asked if I was ok. I told them I was fine but I could feel it and it hurt.

They renumbed the area and finished fast. I still wonder why I didn't stop him. Figured I could take it and he's be over soon I guess.

I really don't like pain. Now I have to have another root canal, repair some old dental work and fix a few cavities.

I'm more concerned how chubby those chairs make me look then anything else. This dentist has really grown to work with my anxiety and issues. I haven't told him anything just I get anxious and what happened before with the novacaine. I hope you find someone you can trust.

I made it I went today for my treatment appointment.

It was not as bad as I was expecting. OK so I had an injection to numb up 2 small areas but not a full half mouth numbing as I was expecting.

I even had to sit and wait for over 20 mins as she was running late, but I sat calmly and waited. I did put some Ylang Ylang essential oil on my jumper before I went though, just for added calmness. So with that and my red jasper bracelet I was fine.

Just waiting for the numbness to wear off before I eat now.
