I am posting this thread on behalf of Anthony as I am very proud of him. As you know Anthony has taken up a hobby and has been doing some renovations. To me, it has made a huge overall difference as he's gone from someone who was just going through the motions of day to day life to someone with plans, ideas and projects. He has a lot more to talk about rather than when he just sat at home playing on the computer and filling in his days and it is nice watching him accomplish things.

We have learned a lot of lessons renovating and recently the Australian Home Handyman Magazine ran a competition for best "home handy man tips". I did not know Anthony entered however was delighted when he showed me that, despite not winning the competition overall, his tip was published! Well done I say,

 Did not know Anthony "was" handy!

Kudos to him. Everybody needs a reason to get up in the morning and things to look forward to.

Glad Anthony has found another interest. Bet he's good at it too!

It is soOo very good to hear that he has gone from going through the motions to making plans...it gives me hope that it will come, that looking forward to stuff thing. Congratulations...
YaY Anthony....wicked.
Thankyou Nicolette for sharing this also....

Stout fellow!

I am just about to embark on converting our old outside privvy and coal shed which are attached to the back of the kitchen) into a nice summer room we can sit and look at the garden. Also, less far to walk to the fridge in the event of barbeques. I haven't done any work on the house since my symptoms really flared up 2 years ago. I am slowly turning back towards "can do".

Best of luck.

That's great stuff. Congrats on getting your tip published.
I could certainly do with a 'handy man' around here - I seem to be having a lot of little things go wrong. They could prbably be fixed quite easily, but as I'm not 'handy', I always have to pay someone to sort these things out. Consider yourself lucky, Nicolette - a handy man is great to have around. If you ever feel like loaning him out - I know a little house in the UK, which could do with some help!!

Great job Anthony! It is amazing what a little motivation and a task can do for your self esteem and overall ptsd isn't it. I too enjoy having a purpose.

Congratulations, Morgan

Hey, that's really cool! Congrats on getting recognition for your handyman skills, Anthony :thumbs-up
