Just out of curiosity I'm wondering how much pain everyone is in over an average of their good days and bad days.

On a side note and if you want to answer a secondary question by message - Do you have more good days than bad days. And how long have you (or SO) been treating/dealing with your PTSD?

I put 7 but it's most likely higher than at this point, it's difficult to really average it out, I'm pretty use to having pain most of my life. I've had years where I have done okay but between the Migraines and fibromyalgia, it can be very tricky. The past 10 years seemed to be a very riddled year of surgeries and serious pain issues. I went through this in my teens and about 15yrs after thatl. So I'm assuming the stressors add a great deal to setting off the cycles of pain, considering what was going on during those times. My usual Migraines go from 2days up to 5-7days, pain levels going from 8 to a 10. The fibro pain leaving wrapped in heating pads and sometimes barely able to get out of bed.

I am still putting the pieces together as the cloud clears.

I have a lot of pain from tension and I'm so used to it I didn't even realize I had it until I had surgery and it went away. Now I notice it a lot more because I've started getting migraines from all the tension, so I have to try to stay a certain amount relaxed OR ELSE. But being in constant pain on some level is kind of what I'm used to now. I've been being treated for 2 years now and have probably had PTSD for 18.

It's a good thing it's an average, because it varies widely for me. I have been dealing with PTSD since high school... though specifically in therapy only a couple months. I've done/read a lot of things for trauma and coping.

I sort of backed into this thing. It was the physical toll it was taking on my body, and a process of eliminating as many other factors as I could before I was prepared to accept that I had to have professional help to do this.

Innordinate,

I have a question ..What type of pain are you talking about? I have had pain since within a few days of my attack that is mental in nature almost 15 months ago that has gotten worse to where i would say it is a 7 now ... I call it my strain pain like when you look into the bright sunshine after coming out of a dark space Then there is pain from my injury to my shoulder it is now in the 6-7 range of constant major discomfort as a base line but easily reaches the level of 9.5 as I cannot say 10 because i thought I had reached a 10 in the recent past but at times it exceeds that now...

Seven for the last ~six months or so. The number's currently rising, though. The last two weeks it was more of an eight. No really good days in between, just variations of bad.

Thank you!

I believe I have properly responded in previous post. But I would like to offer further clarification to it. I will leave my description of mental pain as like a pain of a 7. That has continually increased from the time of the original trauma incident (15months ago) that is the cause of my PTSD.

The physical pain I speak(keyboard) of is from an injury to my shoulder that I suffered in the defending of myself from the physical assault by a knife wielding attacker that caused my PTSD. The pain and injury are a major trigger as well. The constant throbbing ache in my shoulder is again a 7ish but often exceeds to 10 like but again when I think the pain cannot get worse it does at different times in any given day

I will say when I saw this question I came to the immediate realization that I do suffer two (2) very distinct pains. I am very curious if others here do as well.

My average physical pain number is a 5... so that puts me at a 4.50. But I find that the physical stuff wears me down as it is consistent and chronic... it makes me swing widely mentally/emotionally.

So many of us have chronic pain issues! Insurance co's thought they got off light when they nixed mental health from treatment and now, chronic pain issues cost them soooo much. Idiots!

I'm in constant pain everyday with my plevis, back and tummy pains. I also get pains in my tubes and my chest.
