Hello,
I had a bad night last night. Actually, "bad" is my normal, but last night was worse. I sometimes sleep on my bed sofa because the mattress is better quality than my bed's. Fell asleep and woke up from a nightmare. It was one that I call "chase". Details vary, but the plot is the same. Everything seems normal but soon I will sense a certain atmosphere that makes me realize someone is looking for me and trying to torture me by a subtle chase, i.e. pretending to play a game with all people present in the dream, but he/she/it is really after identifying me, find me. So, I woke up at some stage and went over to my bed. I was too tired though to fully wake up (the way I am during the day) so I had another variation of the same nightmare. I slept long hours but they don't seem to have any use because of the quality of the sleep...
My first trauma in life was my mother neglecting me severely the first six months (then someone else got it and saved me). I would cry, scream, do whatever and she would do literally nothing. I think that it is that that is what my cramps result from. I will put the head backwards until it's not possible to go further, will pull up my shoulders as far as possible and will sleep like that. When I wake up, I can hardly move my head and shoulders.
While I have found things that help with falling asleep in a relaxed way, I seem to be unable to do anything regarding the cramping (that results in spasms and a bad headache throughout the day). Doing exercises before going to sleep does not help. It seems to be a "default setting" my body goes into when under stress.
Does anyone have experience with this and found a way of sleeping better (physically speaking)?
I am aware that my stress level is too high due to work but can not do anything against that due to a conference taking place and 12-hour working days ahead for a weak, incl. week-end. I will take days off afterwards.
Thanks very much!
