Bad Time Of The Year?

Noticed January is a real downer for everyone. Noticed at work especially, people are not in the greatest of moods.

Anyone else find January a downer? How do you fight it?

I go for walks outside in the fresh air and try and get as much sunlight as possible.

Recently I feel like I am going crazy. I hope it stops soon.

I think the lack of sunshine and the colder weather, puts people in a blue mood.
I also tend to think anything that helps you feel better w/o causing more harm is good for this type of 'seasonal' depression...taking a walk, calling a close friend, pampering ourselves with a hot bath, a healthy meal, a wholesome movie (such as a good comedy), etc. These types of things help make me feel better when I am blue, (if I can motivate myself to just do them.);)

I have seasonal affective disorder, so for me, this is the worst time of year (for depression).

I have a light box which I bought that is supposed to help fight the symptoms of S.A.D., and I spend a coupla hours each day basking beneath this light during the winter months. But for a low mod I would suggest getting outside (if you can stand the cold), especially when the sun is shining and get at least an hour of sunshine daily.

hope you find this helpful,
LH
