Well dang. Maybe my guy has BPD along with PTSD? Your post made me read up on it a little bit @anthony. He has most if not all of those symptoms. Would his psych doc pick up on this? If they're looking for it. He's a combat veteran being treated through the VA. It seems like the treatment is the same as the treatment of PTSD. No?

I'm not looking to diagnose him, just thought it was interesting. Thanks!

Personality disorders form prior to adulthood, then span into adulthood. If he did not have that early trauma causing such issues prior to 18, then no, he will not be diagnosed with a personality disorder.

Saying that, that is what CPTSD in the ICD 11 will correct, being that trauma can cause similar symptom outcomes, personality outcomes, yet they are more readily treatable than say a personality disorder. The DSM does not agree with this research yet, the ICD 11 has formed the CPTSD diagnosis once released. The ICD 11 is in final draft stages for release this year, stated by the World Health Organisation. Many combat vets will actually better fit CPTSD than PTSD, due to the prolonged nature of deployment trauma.

Ok -- I'm gonna break with the crowd and say .... who cares why he is behaving this way? It good you are getting out
The visual that I got from your post is just down right creepy and my dispatch brain went straight into rescue mode. Whatever is going on with him has spun him and you need to make sure you keep your distance from it. It's like a stalker call waiting to happen. Or someone who has just broken from reality and having a mental health crisis. But whatever it is that caught my attention --- That behavior is NOT right.

Side note....To be honest my brain went straight to he's using meth.

They tend to mesh but some of them are PTSD such as flashbacks, irrational fears (and hit the...
He used to shut down in school when triggered teen age years ( abusive father comparing him with the favorite older brother), he wouldn't talk in class and refuse to do homework (wanted to jump from the roof ) had to be put with a different teacher that didn't know his brother.
So, similar now, the father (perpatrator told my hubby : I want you to talk with your brother before I die ...otherwise I will not talk to you anymore. Results: total shut down he cut conctact with his family and now pushing me away won't talk or lush out..Today he deleted all phone numbers from the family....
Now he is experiencing some break from reality and dissociation (at work personality is different then at home, video games and tv constantly when at home).
Also increased drinking, but not extreme

Thanks,
like when he wanted to tell me that he wasn't happy with me because he tought I was selfish and not caring for him (had to visit my sister)...
.he started yellingI ate you , you are a selfish b****, ..get the f******out...
He never used to be like that during the normal years, quite the opposite, but never bery open about his frustrations, maybe was suppressing his feelings ,
but something triggered his cptsd (maybe the depression, maybe his father going no contact and favoring his brother once again iver him).
Thanks,
CV
