Yep I think there are a number of animals I have had in my life that understood me. I think I understood them too...most of the time. I know when I let them down.

My last horse was a rescue situation. He had some very bad habits. I had to learn to out-wit him and teach him better habits or just give up the old one's. It took a while but eventually he became very safe and reliable.

My father was a stock man from the old era. He told me when I was just beginning to learn to ride that every horse I will ever ride will know immediately whether or not I can ride, am confident and a whole lot of stuff I never would have believed. To ignore this would be at my peril.
After many decades of working with horses and can say for myself - it is true - and he was correct.

Also my dog - we communicated but again as other's have stated in earlier responses he wasn't impressed with history, politics etc. But he put up with me telling him my views anyway.:giggle:

LOL. Can't do that with a lot of PEOPLE.
