LOL...the turkey vultures are one of my favorites. My favorite breeze surfers, for sure! The way they swoosh and glide and just enjoy the ride, makes me want to join them. Don't ever approach one and startle it, though. Their defense mechanism is to regurgitate and it's not pleasant, especially if it's a fly over and delayed release. That was my first introduction to them. It landed right on the rear view mirror of the truck I was a passenger in and my window was all the way down. So gross.

We have a lot of hawks, crows, cardinals, blue birds, robins, blue jays, red-winged black birds, starlings, mockingbirds, whippoorwills, fly catchers, sparrows, purple martins, gold finches, red finches, pileated woodpeckers, a couple other kinds of woodpeckers, blue herons, mourning doves (I talk to them with my Native American flute), and hummingbirds. I'm sure I'm leaving some out. I don't think I've ever seen an oriole. That would be so sweet! What a beautiful photo you captured, too! Nice! They're some of my favorite entertainment each day, for sure, along with the rest of the wild life.

I also know about the vultures startle response.. came upon them around a curve in the road, as they lifted, one let it go on my windshield.... deer guts on the windshield.... !!!! I don't have a weak stomach, but I did that day, don't know if the mess was bigger inside the car or outside... ewwwww !!!

@Tornadic Thoughts @ladee OK, both of you!!!!! I was trying to eat when I read both of your responses. Thanks for all of the graphic pictures I know have in my head. And thanks for ruining my grapes and cottage cheese!!!! Ahhhh shit the emojis won't work, are they broke??????

:laugh::laugh::laugh:, I'm sorry @She Cat.... maybe we should start putting a 'gag warning' on some posts..... it was pretty disgusting.... maybe you can eat later... and I'm kinda sorta sorry for laughing, but not really.... you owe me one.... when I least expect it.... still love ya tho !!!

I put out scratch for my chickens and a pair of mourning doves moved in. They hang out in the chicken yard. We also have purple martins and I plant hummingbird plants so I have a lot of those. They get in my hair sometimes when I am weeding. We also have scrub jays. They are so bold that one would come on my porch and scream at my cat for hours. He would stand 3 feet away and scream. One day I didn't hear him and I saw a tail hanging out of my mastiff's mouth. Eww.
