Well, I will start by saying, I'm enjoying the current book, Running with Scissors. I have it on my phone, on the Kindle App and read some of it at lunch on Friday. I get back from lunch and my boss and I have a meeting and I say, "Do you read?...You know...Books?" She looks at me as though I just inferred she's an idiot and tells me that she can in fact read. I tried to tell her about the book, but I was laughing so hard at having had my foot in my mouth, that she looked at me like I was an idiot and said I can tell her about it after I read it. On a side note, about 5 minutes after that I also called her a pig...good times!:roflmao:

Ayesha, I am in a similar situation. I was going to buy books this month but they will have to wait until next month now. I will reread some old favourites in the meantime. Luckily I bought this months and next months book club books a while ago.

OMG. OMG. OMG. I have looked at the opening pages of both War Horse and Unbroken and wow, I can't wait to read them.

I'm actually quite scared of War Horse, even though it was one of my choices. Since PTSD, I have steered away from books/movies/anthing which will push my emotional buttons. I think War Horse will have me bawling like a baby and I don't know if that is a good thing, or if I'm ready for it .

Yer, I'm hanging out for Unbroken... really looking forward to reading that one. It's been sitting on the shelf for some time, collecting dust, waiting patiently. Not much longer to go, then reading bliss.

I'm currently slowly working my way through the Lee Child "Jack Reacher" series of books. 17 in the series, which makes for an interesting pile in the cupboard.

Just got H to buy War Horse for me! :) ( And some books on cars) I'll have to wait to read it though. If I read it to early then I wont have much to say in the thread.

Love books!

I had a list of books I wanted to buy and so I went to the local bookstore. They did not have any of them. One I am sure they had (War Horse) but for the life of me I could not find it.

So I bought all 4 of my books on Amazon. All used and all together about 18 dollars, which is a price the bookstore would not have been able to compete with.

I did buy a magazine though...to read while I wait for my books to arrive.

One of the most pleasant things for me is 3+ books open on my coffee table. All of them I am in the middle of reading and I switch back in forth between them.

I got the fifty shades trilogy, a school textbook on psychology, two books about the basics of cars, an autobiography and one magazine about cars. Can't wait to add War Horse to this stack of books. I should probably reread Tess of the d'urbervilles while I am at it.
