C/PTSD and bullying over tics. "Too young to have a real disorder"

New Here
I live at a homeless shelter. They're claiming I don't have medication, don't have a diagnosis, and waking me up out of my sleep by mocking my vocalizations (stims/tics).

There's a younger autistic woman who feels entitled to copying me because I have symptoms in common with autism like stimming and vocalizations. She never did those things when I first moved in. She's also doing them without a clear trigger like I usually do.

She started dressing like me, wearing floral dresses and colorful outfits. Her usual clothing is the same black yoga pants and a hoodie.

Edit: And I'm literally in the middle of a stressful lawsuit. An ex coworker who is not autistic, ADHD, ND, etc. Decided to up and copy my vocalizations, sensory seeking, ask for my accomodations, and changed her wig's hairline to my wig's hairline!)

Then, she showed up wearing dresses, having vocalizations, and decided she's allowed to evaluate me because she's autistic and I'm not.

They let her because she's older, autistic, and less attractive. Many of the people making fun of me began wearing an afro and floral dresses the way I do.

It's hurtful. My PTSD is on top of cptsd from childhood incest and stalking trauma, then when I finally got away, I experienced back to back SA and NDE trauma.

I always stimmed because I have ADHD too.

I believe TikTok brought internet experts and who's a better internet experts than older, unfulfilled women who sit around the shelter and don't go out

That sounds incredibly tough and invalidating—being mocked for your stims and tics, especially when you're already dealing with so much stress from the shelter, the lawsuit, and layers of past trauma. It's heartbreaking when people start mimicking you like that, copying your style and behaviors as if it's some kind of game, and it piles on the hurt when staff lets it slide or joins in. Your vocalizations and stimming make total sense with ADHD and the PTSD weight you're carrying; it's your body's way of coping, not something to be ridiculed or "evaluated" by strangers playing internet expert.

I'm really sorry you're going through this isolation on top of everything—it's brave of you to share it here. You deserve space to just be yourself without the copying or judgment. Hang in there; hoping things ease up a bit soon and you find some calmer corners amid the storm. Here if you want to vent more. 💕
